Andrew Berens, MBA, MLS(ASCP), SM

Andrew Berens, MBA, MLS(ASCP), SM is certified by ASCP as both a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) and a Specialist in Microbiology (SM) and is extremely passionate (and experienced) in Clinical Microbiology. Andrew currently serves as the Business Development Manager, Northeast at COPAN Diagnostics, where he utilizes his experience in Clinical Microbiology to understand and navigate the various complex needs of his clients in Microbiology labs throughout the northeast.

Andrew also serves as the President of Northeast Association for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease (NACMID) where he wholeheartedly embraces their mission of providing access to affordable, high-quality education in Clinical Microbiology.

Prior to his current role, Andrew was the Manager of the Microbiology & Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at Boston Medical Center- the largest level 1 trauma center and safety net hospital in New England. He has previously served on the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Clinical Microbiology Mentoring Subcommittee where he helped mentor young professionals in the field.
