Christian Baguistan, DCLS, MLS(ASCP),SM

Dr. Christian Darren Baguistan is an ASCP-certified medical laboratory scientist with more than twenty years of experience across all major laboratory disciplines, with particular strengths in clinical chemistry and microbiology. His recent work has focused on assay validation and verification, developing evidence-based testing practices, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve diagnostic accuracy and support high-quality patient care. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge and has taught parasitology and chemistry at a school of medical laboratory science, in addition to serving as a volunteer mentor through the ASP Mentorship Program to help guide the next generation of laboratory professionals.

Outside of the laboratory, Dr. Baguistan enjoys hiking, reading, and exploring new places. He is an avid traveler who has visited more than 30 countries and has participated in medical missions in the Dominican Republic and Uganda, where he served as a malaria microscopist-experiences that broadened his understanding of global health needs and the importance of accessible, high quality diagnostic services.
