About
Heidi Schutz began her career in clinical laboratory science with a focus on hematology and blood banking, later transitioning into laboratory information systems. She gained extensive hands-on experience in a hematology/oncology practice, where she refined her phlebotomy expertise. After a period away from the field to focus on family, she returned to clinical practice in a generalist role within family medicine, quickly advancing into leadership positions. These roles allowed her to deepen her regulatory knowledge and managerial capabilities. She eventually re-entered the hospital environment, where she managed point-of-care testing technologies. Heidi now applies her comprehensive, cross-disciplinary experience in the non-profit sector, supporting initiatives that bridge access to healthcare for under-served communities and in disaster situations by providing laboratory capabilities.
