Sarah Bergbower, DCLS, MS, MLS(ASCP)cm

As a first-generation college student, Dr. Bergbower has earned an Associate in Clinical Laboratory Science from Lake Land College, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Biology from Greenville University, a Master of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Genetics from the University of Iowa, and a Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is an ASCP board certified Medical Laboratory Scientist with experience as a generalist in a rural hospital laboratory setting.

Dr. Bergbower's research interests primarily lie in evidence-based laboratory medicine where she has focused on pre-pre and post-post analytical error and the role a DCLS has in laboratory testing interpretations and recommendations. She is an active member of ASCLS, holding committee seats, presenting, and volunteering. Currently tenured as an Associate Professor, Dr. Bergbower has been educating since 2014 where she especially enjoys hands-on laboratory exercises with both majors and non-majors.
