Susan Leclair, PhD, CLS(NCA)

Dr. Susan J. Leclair is a distinguished clinical laboratory scientist with over 57 years of experience in the field. Following her start as a medical technologist in 1968, she built a 35-year teaching career at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where she now serves as chancellor professor emerita. Dr. Leclair has pioneered patient education initiatives, including directing the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science's consumer information web page since 1999. Her contributions to hematology, oncology, and bioethics have earned her multiple honors, including the Heroes of Medicine Award.

Dr. Leclair's legacy continues through her mentees, who now hold leadership positions in the field, and through her ongoing work educating patients and physicians about laboratory medicine.
